Nikki Haley Warns Against Describing One's Political Opponents As 'Evil'

Nikki Haley Warns Against Describing One's Political Opponents As 'Evil'

Elizabeth Warren and other high-profile politicians in a lighthearted speech on Thursday.

Haley announced earlier this month that she was leaving the job by the end of the year. "If I get stuck for laughs just brag about his accomplishments", Haley said, to laughs. Many have viewed the MA senator's decision to take a DNA test in an effort to "prove" her claim of Native American ancestry after years of being called "Pocahontas" by Trump as preparation for a potential presidential campaign.

Amid the jokes, Ms Haley, who still might have a political future ahead of her, also relayed a sobering message about the riled state of politics in the U.S. - which some interpreted as criticism of Mr Trump.

Ms Haley recounted that as she prepared for the dinner - hosted by Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan and attended by the state's political elites - Mr Trump gave her some advice. She said in her keynote address that the organizers "wanted an Indian woman, but Elizabeth Warren failed her DNA test", in a reference to Warren's releasing a DNA test to prove her Native American ancestry. I got the same message from several of my white conservative readers, who in one breath said identity politics was bad but in the next emphasized how proud they were to vote for a conservative black man. "So good night everybody!" She not only poked fun at her boss and Ms Warren - a potential 2020 rival - but also took playful jabs at Attorney-General Jeff Sessions, Senators Jeff Flake and Bernie Sanders, and convicted Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Dozens at Hindu festival in India killed by train
The crowd had gathered to burn an effigy of Hindu demon-king Ravana, the culmination of the yearly festival of Dussehra. Senior railway officials said that there was no way in which the railways could have averted the accident.

At the time, Trump drew boos when he said of Clinton, 'Here she is tonight, in public, pretending not to hate Catholics'. His calculation: Her "pure Native American ancestor" appeared "in the range of 6-10 generations ago", which would track with her family lore that her great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, was at least part-Native American.

Haley, who was once the Republican governor of SC, brought the amusing while at the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, named after the former NY governor who was the first Catholic to receive a major party nomination for president when he ran in 1928. "Actually I saw Jeff Sessions earlier today, but not in NY, I saw him on LinkedIn looking for a job".

"In the last two years, I've seen true evil", Ms Haley continued.

"In America, our political opponents are not evil", she pointed out, noting that crimes committed against political opponents in Syria and Sudan are real instances of evil.
