Google launches support for Movies Anywhere

The service has been introduced by Disney, following its Disney Movies Anywhere service rolled out in 2014, only this time the company has managed to get some other studios involved.

Google has launched support for Movies Anywhere, Disney's revamped online video service which aggregates movies from Google Play, Amazon, iTunes, and Vudu. Before today, the sharing capabilities were limited only to Disney.

Customers can use a free app to connect their Movies Anywhere account with participating digital retailers, and Movies Anywhere will sync the library across accounts so users can stream or download on a wide variety of devices (including Amazon Fire, Android and Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS devices and Roku devices).

Reliance Jio's new plan offers 100 per cent cashback on Rs 399
Users can redeem these vouchers against the future recharge of Rs 309 or above and Rs 91 or above on data add-ons. If your Jio recharge is expiring, you have a good chance to avail the cash back before October 18.

It's based on their Disney Movies Anywhere digital movie platform which served only Disney movies but this new incarnation has been backed by other major Hollywood studios including Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Film, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.

Since this service was limited to Disney's movies, it didn't reach lots of consumers. Unfortunately, last month Disney announced that they are pulling support for Microsoft's Movies & TV platform from Movies Anywhere. Movies Anywhere owners will now be able to access their movie library featuring titles from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel from any of their devices. Movies Anywhere now offers support for devices including Amazon Fire; Android devices and Android TV; Apple TV; Chromecast; Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; and Roku.

Google invites users to link their accounts now to take advantage of this offer, however, the Movies Anywhere website doesn't appear to have officially launched and the Google Play app page that Google links to also isn't live at the time of writing. Connecting with a second participating digital retailer and Disney's Big Hero 6, Universal's Jason Bourne and Warner Bros.' The LEGO Movie will be added to their digital movie collection.
